I know I ranted a lot about my misfortunes with this camera but it seems the problem has finally been fixed. I sent it to Canons own repair centre (RCC) and they dismantled the thing, cleaned and tested contacts and gave part of it a soak test?? Anyway it came back after only a few days and it hasn't put a foot wrong since. It seems to have been a very simple problem but caused havoc with the cameras operation. It's got damp due to condensation and been in varying temperatures without going wrong since I got it back. Fingers crossed it stays that way as I am more than happy with the images it produces and can worry about getting decent shots instead of wonky technology. Cool
